As the successor to the Berlinetta Boxer, Ferrari''s first mid-engine 12-cylinder road car, the Testarossa had more power with greatly improved breathing by virtue of four-valve cylinder heads. The results were impressive, with a top speed of nearly 290 km/h and sprints to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. The rear-mounted radiators provided additional luggage space in the nose, which made the Testarossa a very capable grand touring car as well.
